Course Description
Physical Science (Level 10) (PACEs 1109–1120)
Prerequisite: Algebra I
In this level the student:
- Receives an introduction to chemistry and physics, preparing him or her for more rigorous science courses.
- Studies the scientific method and measurement; states, classification, and structure of matter; pressure and density of gases; elemental periods and families; and the formation of chemicals, chemical bonding, and chemical reactions.
- Learns about metals, nonmetals, and metalloids; motion, gravity, and thermodynamics; mechanical waves and sound; electricity, magnetism, light, and the electromagnetic spectrum; and modern physics.
- Applies Scriptural principles to everyday situations.
Free Physical Science Lab videos provide interactive, multimedia instruction and allow students to observe “hands-on” lab experiments.
